“Live the life you’d be envious of if you saw someone else living it. This is my personal mantra. Whenever I’m going through a difficult time, like a breakup, and I’m wishing to be the person who could get over it and move on, I tell myself to be that person. Instead of waiting to be inspired by someone else and being jealous that they’re living a life I wish I had, I tell myself not to wait for that moment and to start being the person I want to be. If you wish you were the woman who went for that big promotion, learned a second language, dumped that guy who cheated on you, then just be that person. Think, if I have the energy to wish for it, I have the energy to do it.” – Olivia Munn
“You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these, you are the sound of the ocean, the breath of fresh air, the brightest light and the darkest corner. You are a collective of every experience you have had in your life. You are every single day, so drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence. Let the words run through your veins and let the colors fill your mind.”
“You can be great at something and not love it, you can be not so great but also love it.” This short little sentence was just the start of a very mind inspiring post by a girl named Nicki Lamkin. I follow her on instagram (@simply.nic), and absolutely love her profile and everything about it.
When I saw her post and read these words amongst many more that followed, I have never felt more inclined and inspired.
It hit home.
I know many of you would be able to relate to it as well no matter what age which is why I really want to talk about it. Doing what you love can have such an immense impact on your life alone. Yes, you may be good at something but that doesn’t mean you enjoy doing it.
People always tell you to share your talents with the world and inspire others. As great as that sounds, if you do not love it, do not force yourself into it to make others happy. Your happiness and well being should be your number one priority.
I don’t care how nice of a person you are, how much you care for others, at the end of the day, who are you around the most.
So wouldn’t it be ideal if the person you’re around the most is happy all the time?
“Obviously Abby.” I know I ask dumb questions sometimes but you get my point.
She goes on to say, “It’s less about what you want to be when you’re older and more about how you can better this world using your gifts.” If you have a talent, that doesn’t mean hide it if you don’t enjoy doing it. Use it in a way that you can better the world and use it towards something you might love doing.
For example, lets say your a natural born singer/songwriter. Your tune and words bring people to their knees. But, lets say you hate singing for big audiences and just putting on a show in front of people. However, you love helping 3rd world countries in creating a better life for them.
Go to those 3rd world countries and help them in any way you can as well as sing. Maybe sing them to sleep so they can fall asleep better. Sing while you are building them new houses. Any way you can bring that gift of yours to the world while doing something you love is a magical thing.
Now for me, I don’t have any talent. I do have things I love to do though. I love to write, talk to people, help people, photography, fashion, design, and much more. So what is it I’m going to do?
Thanks for reading guys, I know this was a shorter post today but when you get inspiration, you need to take advantage of it. “The most beautiful people I think in this world are the ones that have that unique courage to be themselves. No matter what anyone says, no matter how many laugh or mock them, they continue to be themselves even if they are alone. They don’t change to get anyone to like them. They smile because they’re happy and content with themselves.”
“It’s messing people up, this social pressure to “find your passion” and “know what it is you want to do”. It’s perfectly fine to just live in your moments fully, and marvel as many small and large passions, many small and large purposes enter and leave your life. For many people there is no realization, no bliss to follow, no discovery of your life’s purpose. This isn’t sad, it’s just the way things are. Stop trying to find the forest and just enjoy the trees.”
“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile even if she was sad. No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.”
“I love deep talks. Like, hell yeah, tell me about why you’d prefer to talk to your mom rather than your dad. Tell me about your favorite lyrics in the songs you listen to everyday and why they’re your favorite. Tell me about the dog you had when you were growing up and how he was your best friend. Tell me about what kind of books you like to read when you’re alone in your room. Tell me about the things you think about right before you fall asleep. Tell me about anything and everything. I just want to be the one you tell it all to. Please let me be the one.”
“And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got to wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddamn personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself.”
We all have them. Insecurities. They’re those little nuisances that pry at our feelings, our moods, and even our well being at a constant rate. But why.
That’s the real question.
Why do these insecurities have that kind of power to determine even a persons moods. It’s ridiculous.
The worst part is that people don’t notice these insecurities but you think it’s the first thing they see. Sometimes it makes you act differently.
It truly has to the power to change the way you act around people and the way you try to cover them up.
I’ve struggled with a few insecurities throughout my life but I’ve just recently realized that trying to hide them is only making me hide who I truly am. I won’t post pictures or even keep pictures that show any kind of my insecurity.
I can tell you guys right now, my biggest insecurity is my mole and my birthmark on my right cheek. They are directly on top of each other and I have hated it since the day they appeared.
I would take pictures on only one side every time, I used to edit them out when I posted pictures, I would cover them up with my hair, I mean I went to extensive lengths to try and impress.
But what was the point of impressing. Who was I impressing? I was so insecure that I honestly didn’t want to look people in the eye because I thought they were looking at my cheeks and the things that made me different.
I can’t believe to this day how much it controlled my life.
It doesn’t matter how small your insecurity is, don’t let it affect your personality and who you are as a person. Don’t let it ruin you. That’s the worst thing that can happen.
Try to be the power behind it. Learn to conquer the fear of thinking that people judge you by that insecurity of yours. You have the power to let it affect you.
If you don’t let it bother you, and you even embrace it, you’re life will be so beyond what it already is, I guarantee you. Not having to worry about something so little and stupid has helped me realize what is important in life.
This post is really freakn deep but it does mean a lot to me. I’ve never been openly able to talk about my insecurities because I’ve struggled with them for so long.
I just want you guys to know that they shouldn’t control you. Please, for me, understand that people don’t look at those insecurities the same way you do, if even at all. One less thing to worry about is one step closer to feeling as if you’re on cloud 9 day in and day out.
Many people don’t get this feeling often because they struggle with so many inner demons.
Overcome them. It’ll change everything.
Thanks for reading guys, I hope you all take a little bit from each of my blogs! Whether you do or not, I’ll be here writing no matter what. Let me know if you guys have any questions for me or even want to talk!
I’d really love to meet you all if I could so don’t be afraid to comment or even email me or message me, whatever you feel is easiest! I post whenever I have time but feel free to hit that follow button on the bottom of the page so it lets you know every time I post! Once again

What exactly do you think of when you think of vacations? Do you think ski resort out in Colorado? Do you think pool side bar in Mexico? Or are you like me and think, wherever I can go that I haven’t gone, that’s a vacation.
Some think of the destination as the biggest aspect, some think of the activities to do in the city, and others think of the cost of all of it. You could even think of all three!
A vacation, by definition, is “An extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling” (Dictionary, 1).
Vacations are where it’s at though. Vacations are your time to relax, get away, not worry about a single damn thing. You have people to clean your sheets for you, make you breakfast, get free coffee, and on top of that, no work.
Many of my other posts have talked about finding a job you don’t feel like you have to force yourself to go to every morning and that’s completely true. However, be that you love your job, doesn’t mean you can’t take a break every once in a while.
I love to shop, I love to play volleyball, and I love to talk… But of course if I did those things everyday, I’d still want a break.
Your vacations should be memorable. You shouldn’t be waking up everyday doing the same thing in a city you’re unfamiliar with. That’s illogical.
Explore what that different city or country has to offer. That’s the main thing I like about adventuring, my curiosity to learn about new ways of living; new ways of doing something. Use your vacations to your advantage cause you never know when they might be taken from you.
I’m currently in Pensacola, FL as I write this and I am on day 3 out of 7. The last few days have been pretty shitty weather but my sister and I have for sure made the best of it. We walked all around downtown Pensacola bay and got soaking wet by all the rain but we didn’t care.
We ran and ran and ran until we couldn’t. Where did we run? To the nearest bay side restaurant of course. If you guys have never been to Jaco’s Bayfront Bar & Grille on Pensacola Bay, I would highly highly advise it. Best flatbread I have ever had, so scrumptious.
But I look at every moment as a blessing and another minute being able to live in this wonderful and crazy world of ours. Yes, it was pouring rain, we could have easily ran to the car, and came back to the hotel to sit in our warm room. But no, we made the best of it, and now we have that memory that will last us a lifetime.
It is spring break time too so I hope many of you got the chance to take a little break or vacation to rejuvenate your minds and bodies, in the hopes that you can do one again fairly soon!
I know I’m already planning my next adventure and I’ve still got 4 days left… I’m insane yes, but its a life I am willing to pursue for a very very long time. I will never stop exploring new worlds.
If you have something that your passionate about, my god please pursue it. I don’t care what it takes, you only have this one life and time is ticking anyways.
I hope you all enjoyed my reading today, and I also hope everyone is enjoying or enjoyed their spring break time while they had it!
I am awful with consistency with this thing so I’ll just say I post whenever I have time so I’m not getting peoples’ hopes up haha but there is a little follow button at the very bottom of my home page that will email you every time I write a post! It’s super neat and you should probably take advantage of it cause it would make me a happy human.
Anyways, do what you will, do what you want and have a wonderful day guys! Come back for daily quotes as well!
Peace & Blessings ❤
