Life Is Full Of Beauty

“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.” – Ashley Smith

Side Tracked

Okay, so I know I have been away for a little while but there’s a very good reason for that. I’ve been trying to find myself in this world that’s filled with cookie cutter ways of living.

*Cookie cutter ways of living: People living their life in a way that doesn’t break away from the norm/ the way others expect everyone to live.

I was a victim of trying to fit into the norm. I never took the time to stop for a second and think about what I’m doing. No one typically does. This is why this article is going to be one of my most important pieces of writing to date.

The more I’m thinking about what I should be doing, I’m wasting that time when I could be doing something life changing. The time is going to pass anyways so make use of it.

Warning: May contain many thought processes that will cause you to rethink your entire existence.

So instead of forcing myself to go after quests I’m expected to go about, I’m taking a step back for once in my life. It’s always been a sprint for me and I’ve realized that by thinking about what I should be doing with my life, I should be acting. It’s a marathon.

You can’t get that time back that you’ve lost. There’s no going back and wishing you would have done something productive instead of sitting around and wishing you were doing something productive.

Time is so essential. Many know this but don’t realize it. Everyone knows time goes by fast, it’s common sense. We’ve all experienced that. But think about it for a second.

Have you ever stopped for a second, sat there in your barely lit room on the edge of your bed staring at those scattered pieces of paper on your desk or the couple pairs of dirty jeans worn that weekend still dispersed across your bedroom floor and thought for a second?

It sounds deep and a slightly depressing but that’s not what I’m trying to get at. Have you ever sat there and thought, what is something I’d want to do for the rest of my life? What is something I am so crazy passionate about but I never have time to do? What would I be doing if money or time weren’t an issue?

Would you be doing exactly what your life consists of in that very moment?

Most people would respond with either no, or I mean, it COULD be better?

My next question. What is stopping you from attempting to figure out who you are and what you’re passionate about and how to act on that passion?

I’ve thrown out a shit ton of questions at you and you’re probably so overwhelmed you’ve forgotten what I’ve even been talking about.

The main idea I want you, as the reader, to take away from this whole thing is this; Don’t get side tracked with the distractions in the world telling you that your dreams and passions are unrealistic.

Screw reality.

At this point you might not even know what you’re truly passionate about at all and that’s totally fine. This is where the stepping back and really getting a feel for yourself and who you truly are as a person is the first step in figuring that out. I’m serious about this guys.

Alright, I’m a very action and visual person so I’ll give you this. Think about your day and when you have maybe 15 minutes to spare. When I say 15 minutes to spare, I mean you’re not doing anything thats a priority (work, class, funeral, exam, etc.) Here’s a list of small steps I want you to take within these 15 minutes.

  1. Write down what you’d be doing if money or time weren’t issues in your life (what you’re passionate about). This could be a paragraph or even a bulleted list.
  2. Read it out loud
  3. Write a bulleted list of reasons why you’re not doing these things. It will probably be super obvious reasons but write them down anyways.
  4. Prioritize the list from 1 being the biggest reason
  5. Now write down options of diminishing these issues. So for example, if you wrote down money as an issue for 1, write down; getting a job, selling clothes, selling furniture, donating blood, whatever you think is a possibility for you to create a little extra income in your pocket.
  6. Take action. Seriously, do something about it!!

~ These steps seem so simple to do and you’ve probably heard them thousands of times but honestly the way I see it, if you are willing to settle in a lifestyle you know you won’t thrive in, by all means, be my guest. I’m not forcing you to do anything.

You can’t help anyone who doesn’t want to be helped and the way I see it is, if you want a change, if  you want something new and exciting, sitting around isn’t gonna do shit.

You have to physically get off your ass and do something about it. I’m saying that to help you in the best possible way because clearly no one has for you if you’re still in the same position you were in a year ago.

Time flies people. Don’t waste it wishing you had someone else’s life when they are doing exactly what you could be doing if you tried.

Everyone looks at the people with the most success and think “wow they have it so easy, look at their life, that must be so nice”. But no one sees their back story or the way they got there. No one sees the struggle they had to go through to get to where they are at.

All human beings have to start from somewhere. We might be all starting from slightly different incomes, backgrounds, ares of the globe, but that sure as hell doesn’t mean you can’t do exactly what those successors are doing.

If I never actually took the time to stop from this mad world we live in, and stop worrying about the way people think of me, I never would have been as happy as I am at this very moment in my life.

I am a college student so I have many priorities and dead lines that are constantly hanging over my head but I still have time for myself too. Instead of taking 8 naps a day, watching netflix, scrolling through pointless social media timelines, I’m doing my best to try something new everyday and experience the world.

Open up your mind for once to the opportunities that are out there! Join a club, go do a 5k, talk to someone else about their passions. I love love love the fact that we have the freedom to do whatever we want for the most part and were not taking advantage of that at all!!!

Everyones afraid. Me included. I don’t have any idea where I’m going to be at in the next 5 years. You know when interviewers ask that super deep question of “where do you see yourself in 5 years?”

It’s like I honestly don’t have a freakn clue dude.

But that’s what I find to be the most exciting. Anything can happen within a second. I never thought I’d be where I am now 3 years ago. How is anyone supposed to know?

You can sure as hell have an idea but that all starts from somewhere.

I apologize  for the super long article but it is a very close one to my heart and something I wanted to share with you guys whether you read the whole thing or just skimmed.

~~~ The main takeaway I want you guys to take from this super long thought process of mine is this:
  • Take a step back. Truly take the time to think and write down what you are truly passionate about and what you’d be doing if there was nothing in your way and money and time weren’t problems. IT. COULD. CHANGE. YOUR. MF. LIFE.
Thanks so much for reading guys and I’m truly going to try to keep it consistent and post more often now that I’ve organized my schedule a bit better.
I just love to write and get my thoughts down on paper so I appreciate every one of you for taking time out of your crazy days to read my long ass articles ❤
Go out there and totally kill that game we call life.
Peace & Blessings ❤
