Twenty Years From Now

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – H. Jackson Brown Jr.

The Last Lecture

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
― Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

* By the way, this is an amazing book that I just recently read and I would recommend it to anyone. It’s basically a biography of Randy and his life before he is supposed to pass away from pancreatic cancer. He talks about many memories and life lessons he learned throughout his years. I highly recommend it, so if anyone ends up reading it, I’d love to hear what you think! *

Let That Be That

“The important thing is to realize that no matter what people’s opinions may be, they’re only just that- people’s opinions. You have to believe in your heart what you know to be true about yourself. And let that be that.” – Mary J. Blige

The Ultimate Breakfast Ideas

FullSizeRender-4

Breakfast is honestly my favorite meal of the day.

I mean, you wake up, you’re starving, and you run to your kitchen (this is all in slo mo by the way) just to find the wonderful array of food waiting for you to get your hands on it.

There’s a lot of people however that usually stick to the same breakfast every morning cause they either don’t have time to make something or they don’t know what else to make!

Well, luckily for you sorry souls, you got me 🙂

Now I’m not just going to explain a few breakfast ideas, I’m going to do one better. I’m going to let you guys know the best breakfast restaurants that I have been to all over the U.S. (They’re mostly in the midwest, sorry coastal people)

Some might not be close to you but at least you have the ideas for when you decide to make your own!

Alright so first…

  1. Avocado toast with an egg sandwich

This might seem super basic but trust me, it’s damn good. So all you have to do is place the  two pieces of toast in the toaster, start cooking the egg (over easy), then split the avocado open while you’re waiting. I usually only use half an avocado for one sandwich.

Once you flip the egg, that’s when I push the toast down just so its crispy and warm when the egg is ready. Then once everything is done cooking, put it all together! I put half the half of the avocado on one piece of toast and the other half of the half of the avocado on the other.

Place the egg on one piece of toast, add salt & pepper, and if you want to add shredded cheese too go for it, it’s super amazing. Then just place the other side on top and enjoy! It’s a super simple recipe that will have you feeling like Martha Stewart. So good.

2. Egg muffin sandwich

This one requires you to have english muffins on hand. If you don’t know what those are, I hate you.. just kidding but I would highly recommend getting a package. So the ingredients I use for this one include

– Spinach

– Black Forest Ham

– Pepper jack cheese (or any type of sliced cheese)

– Avocado

– Egg (overeasy)

– Seasonings to top! (optional) (salt and pepper)

So start by getting ready to cook the egg and sautéing the spinach. Yes you’re going to cook the spinach. Place two pans on the stove and put olive oil in one (just cover the bottom of the pan) and spray cooking spray on the other then place the egg.

Then, split the english muffin in half and place both pieces in the toaster. Don’t push down yet. Grab the other ingredients from the fridge and just place them on the counter so  they’re ready.

Move around the spinach a bit while cooking it and wait till it gets slightly brown around the edges. Once you’ve flipped the egg, push down the muffin in the toaster and then once everything is cooked, put it all on like a sandwich! I usually put the cheese first so it melts on the warm english muffin. Then the meat, spinach, egg, avocado, and you’re done!

3. Decorative Waffles

Alright these next few are going to be easier but they are just for ideas. I have a waffle maker so this one is super easy for me. But don’t be afraid to spice up the regular ol waffle my friend! Top that sucker with whatever comes to your mind. Whipped cream, blueberries, syrup, strawberries, cinnamon, nuts, or more!

4. Creative Oatmeal

I love oatmeal. I don’t care what anyone says about the texture or how much they think its nasty mush. I love it. I typically buy the regular quakers quick package oatmeal and just add fruits into it once its done. I like to add blueberries, cinnamon, bananas or even some nuts just to give it more flavor!

* Super yummy breakfast restaurants I’ve been to:

– Village Inn (Johnston, IA)

– Corner Café (Urbandale, IA)

– Black: Coffee and Waffle Bar (Minneapolis, MN)

– Cabin Coffe Company (Clear Lake, IA)

– Cosmic Coffee (Warsaw, MO)

Can you tell I live in the midwest… Anyways, theres a ton more but I don’t feel like bombarding you guys with all this breakfast infer. I’m sure your sick of it!

Thanks again for reading guys, I hope you liked it! I love writing and expressing my opinions on everything and I’d love for you guys to comment and let me know either how I’m doin, any ideas you guys want me to write about, comments, concerns, just wanna talk doesn’t matter to me!

I’ll be posting new fun facts on my home page every day and daily motivational quotes so don’t forget to come and see what I’ve got! I’ll also try to post new articles twice a week for you guys! As always,

Peace & Blessings ❤

Best Pieces Of Advice I’ve Ever Received

FullSizeRender-4

There are so many influential people in my life and I couldn’t thank all of them for what they do cause it would take forever but I love them all very much. So here I’d like to show that appreciation and share the kinds of advice they’ve given me throughout the years to share with you lovely people! Hope you enjoy!

“Overcome, adapt, improvise” – Father

I think this is a huge one because he is basically telling me that no matter what wall or roadblock is standing in your way, there’s always something you can do to change that. Lets say you signed up for this super nice vacay hotel and beach resort and once you get to the hotel it looks like something you’d see on the hgtv show flip or flop before the house was flipped…

I hope that made sense…

Anyways, in that situation, my dad would just look at me and say “overcome, adapt, improvise”. Life’s too short to worry about the downfalls or the rough patches because when you look out the window you’ll see the amazing views and completely fall into an awe state.

“There’s always someone who’s going to be prettier, smarter, and/or more talented so stop comparing yourself to others who don’t even come close to your worth”. – Mother

Now she wasn’t saying this to be cruel or mean by any sort of sense. She’s just telling me not to compare myself to anyone else because I am my own person and there’s only one of me in the world. Why try to be someone else when you can be you?

You won’t find happiness constantly comparing yourself to others. It just won’t happen and trust me, I’m a victim of this too. That’s the reason she told me this. It’s just a reality check and a slap in the face saying, BE YOURSELF BECAUSE YOURE ALREADY AMAZING!

“Be true to your values, morals, and don’t compromise on what you truly believe.” – My Grandpa

Basically, know what you believe in and don’t change that just because of a certain situation. Keep those close to you and don’t let them get away from you. That’s the most important piece of advice anyone could ever receive in my eyes.

He was a man who was very true to his word and knew what he believed in. He always wanted to make sure everyone understood this as well.

“Listen to everybody, from the age of 5 to 105. The 5 year old will tell you exactly what he thinks, the 105 year old will tell you exactly what he knows.” – My Great Grandpa

The 5 year old has no filter so therefore he will tell you exactly how he thinks and how you feel. The 105 year old will tell you exactly what he knows and has experienced to give you the insight to carry with you.

Age does not define maturity but it does define wiseness of course. Listening to everything will in turn make you smarter, wiser, and more open to what the world is all about.

I love listening to the advice my close family members are willing to give me. It shows me they care too and love me dearly. When people are giving you advice, you owe them the respect to listen and understand because they are giving up they’re time to help you through tough times that you might have in the future.

I love you all and I hope you enjoyed reading over these wonderful pieces of advice! I really hope these have changed your perspective on a few things as well! Let me know what you think and I’d love to hear some advice you’ve ever received too!

Peace & Blessings ❤
